San Andreas man seriously injured in Monday afternoon collision

A San Andreas man was seriously injured in a single car accident yesterday afternoon. According to CHP reports, just before 4 pm Glenn Wasson, known to many as “Black Bart” from his many years portraying the notorious outlaw, was driving his car eastbound on West Murray Creek Road east of Pope Street. Wasson claims his car suddenly began to accelerate uncontrollably. His car left the roadway, went through a barbed wire fence, through a field and a second barbed wire fence where it hit a large pine tree, shearing it off. Wasson’s car continued forward were it went through a third barbed wire fence and finally stopped in a field north of west Murray Creek Road. Emergency personnel responded quickly and Wasson was flown to a Valley Trauma Center for treatment of major injuries. County road crews responded to remove the large pine tree which was blocking the eastbound lane of West Murray Creek Road. The cause of this collision remains under investigation.
