Jackson City Council to consider nixing 4 parking spaces at 304 Court Street

Jackson City Council holds a regular meeting Monday and will consider a request to remove 4 on-street parking spaces in front of 304 Court Street.  In other business, the council will look to award a winning bid for the Vista Point Improvement Project.  Staff will recommend awarding the project to low bidder John Allen Construction, whose bid was just over $230,000.  The Council will also consider staff recommendation to appoint a committee to review current parking policies in downtown Jackson and develop recommendations for management of parking spaces after January 7th, 2013.  The council will also consider an ordinance to prohibit dogs on Aime Field in DetertPark, and a resolution requesting historic signage on Highway 49 for the Kennedy Mine Tailing Wheels.  The council will also consider a special event permit for the October 31Jackson Lions Club Halloween Parade starting at Main and California Streets, led by a Jackson Fire Department engine, escorted by Jackson Police and volunteers from the Lions Club.
