Cal Fire Lifts Burn Suspension

Cal Fire Lifts Burn Suspension

As of 8:00am this morning, the burn suspension in the Amador – El Dorado Cal Fire unit has been lifted.  Unit Chief Mike Kaslin is formally cancelling the burn suspension and advises that those possessing current and valid agriculture and residential burn permits can now resume burning on permissible burn days. Agriculture burns must be inspected by Cal Fire prior to burning until the end of the peak fire season.  Residents wishing to burn MUST verify it is a permissive burn day prior to burning. This can be done by contacting your local Air Quality Management District.  In Amador County the number is 223-6246.  While cooler temperatures have helped to diminish the threat of wildfire, we are still in our fifth year of drought.  Property owners and residents are asked to use caution while conducting debris burns, follow all guidelines provided, and maintain control of the fire at all times.  CAL FIRE burn permits will be required until the end of peak fire season.  For more information on burning, contact local fire officials or visit the Cal Fire website.
