Stanislaus National Forest Lifts Fire Restrictions

Stanislaus National Forest Lifts Fire Restrictions

Just in time for the weekend, the Stanislaus National Forest has lifted their High Hazard and Moderate Hazard fire restrictions. This will allow the public to build campfires outside of established administrative sites within the Forest. The action has been taken after wet and colder weather, as well as longer nights, have reduced the fire danger to a level that makes the Forest Service comfortable lifting some restrictions. They do say, however, the conditions are still dry overall and you should use extreme caution with your campfire. Never, ever, leave it unattended. You need a fire permit, which you can get at no charge at any Forest Service Visitor Information Office.
