Valley Springs Man Arrested For Hit and Run

Valley Springs Man Arrested For Hit and Run

A Valley Springs man was arrested on hit and run charges out of Tuolumne County after Sonora Police sent out a bulletin with his description. According to reports 76-year-old Louis Page of Valley Springs was sought for allegedly hitting a pedestrian, 30-year-old Jessica Williams of Jamestown, in a crosswalk on October 18th. Police say Page stopped and asked Williams if she was OK, then fled the scene when witnesses suggested they contact law enforcement. His description was pushed out through various channels and an employee at a café in Murphys noticed him and called Sonora PD. A Calaveras County Sheriff’s deputy initially responded and detained Page until a SPD officer could arrive. Page admitted to the crime, and claimed he left the scene because he could not find a place to pull over his vehicle. Page was arrested and transported to Tuolumne County Jail on a felony charge of hit and run.
