Robbery Suspect Arrested At Jackson Casino

A man has been arrested on charges of attempted robbery after confronting a cashier at the Jackson Rancheria and demanding money. The Amador County Sheriff’s Office said Douglas Leland Maurice Crosby, 38, an Oakley resident, presented a note at a cashier’s cage Monday around 7 p.m. saying he had a gun and asking for cash or he would shoot someone. The man took an unspecified amount of cash from the casino worker, then reportedly removed his shirt and sat down at a nearby slot machine and began playing a game, where responding ACSO deputies found him and took him into custody without further incident. No gun was recovered from the scene and investigators believe Crosby did not have a firearm.
