Brutal Attack in Mountain Ranch

An early morning attack yesterday landed a Mountain Ranch man in jail and a woman in the hospital. According to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to the 6000 block of Michel Road in Mountain Ranch for a trespassing incident at around 2:20 am Wednesday. When deputies arrived they heard a woman yelling for help, and quickly found her tied up with duct tape and suffering from serious injuries. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Their investigation revealed that the woman and 49 year old Kevin Eugene Ross of Sacramento, had an argument earlier in the day and when the woman returned to the property she shares with Ross, he ran her over with an ATV, bound her with duct tape, and struck her multiple times with his hands and a handgun. Ross was arrested for domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, battery and false imprisonment. The incident is still under investigation.
