Flood Warnings For The Gold Country and Sierra Nevada

Flood Warnings For The Gold Country and Sierra Nevada

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Gold Country and the Sierra Nevada from late Tuesday night through late Thursday night. Four to nine inches of rain are expected to fall. We can also expect snow starting at 5,000 feet then climbing to 7,000 feet from Tuesday to Wednesday. That means snowmelt will swell local rivers and streams. If you haven’t shored up areas around your home that are prone to flooding with sandbags, you should do so right away. The Amador County’s Sheriff’s Office has a sandbag station near Westover Field in Sutter Hill. Calaveras County has several set up throughout the county and you can find the locations at www.butte.calaveras.ca.gov
