Valley Springs Man Arrested After Motorcycle Accident

A Valley Springs man was injured Sunday evening, in a motorcycle accident while being chased by a Calaveras County Sheriff’s deputy.   According to the CHP, the incident happened late Sunday evening when a deputy attempted to pull over 29-year-old Carlos Nunez of Valley Springs.   Nunez was riding a 1986 Harley Davidson along Stanley Road in West Point when he turned onto a mud covered road and soon lost control of the motorcycle.  The CHP reports that Nunez was ejected and suffered moderate injuries.   The Sheriff’s deputy was following behind, and was unable to stop due to the muddy condition of the road, and hit the rear of the motorcycle.  The CHP reports that Nunez was not affected by the collision between the motorcycle and deputies vehicle. Nunez faces charges related to being suspected of driving under the influence of drugs and failing to yield to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department.
