High Wind Advisory & Flood Watch Remain In Effect

The National Weather Service flood watch remains in effect from Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night for portions of the Mother Lode, Northern San Joaquin Valley and Southern Sacramento Valley. Heavy precipitation, from 1-3 inches, is possible Thursday afternoon through Thursday night. Authorities are worried with creeks and streams still running high from last weekend’s rains. A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop……And a wind advisory remains in effect from 6 PM for Thursday. Southerly winds will increase tonight with strongest winds expected early Thursday morning into Thursday afternoon. Winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts of 40-50 MPH are expected. Difficult driving conditions, power outages, downed trees and power lines are possible. A wind advisory means that wind gusts of 40 MPH or higher are expected.
