Assault With A Frying Results In Felony Charges

Hit someone in the face with a frying pan and the law will catch up to you. That’s what 22 year old Justin Gadberry, a transient who was calling Angels Camp home, learned recently. It all started with a fight over an open apartment door on January 8th. Officers were dispatched to a physical fight on Stanislaus Avenue and arrived to find both suspect and victim gone. Witnesses reported Gadberry and the victim started arguing about the front door to an apartment being left open, which turned into a physical fight. Gadberry reportedly grabbed a frying pan from the apartment and hit the victim in the face, causing a laceration that required stitches. The victim was taken by ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center and officers started looking for Gadberry. They didn’t find him until last week, when an officer saw him driving through Angels Camp and recognized him. Gadberry tried to get away, but they caught him and he was arrested on several felony charges.
