Weekend Car Crashes Lead To DUI Arrests and Injuries

Two people suffered serious injuries and were arrested for DUI in two separate crashes over the weekend. The first one happened just after midnight Sunday morning. According to the CHP, 26 year old Bailey Huffman of Pine Grove was driving on Fiddletown Road east of Silver Oak Lane at around 45 miles an hour when she suddenly turned sharply to the left in a right hand turn and slammed into an oak tree. She was flown to Kaiser South with internal injuries and after investigation was arrested for suspected DUI. The second crash happened at 10:10 Sunday night on Highway 49 at China Street. According to the CHP, 21 year old Nickolaus Wallin of River Pines was driving northbound on Highway 49 when, due to his intoxication, allowed his vehicle to drift off the roadway where it hit a traffic sign, went up an embankment and overturned. He was transported with major injuries and arrested for DUI.
