Tomorrow is the last day to buy tickets to this year’s Margaret Dalton Golden Acorn Award dinner. This year Amador County leaders Laurie Webb and Robin Peters have been named recipients of the annual award.  Webb has served on the board of Directors for the Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency since 1989, on the Foothill Conservancy Board since 2007 and the Board of Sutter Amador Hospital for nine years, ending her term once the new hospital was built. This year, Webb will have served as Director of the Amador Senior Center for 30 years.Peters currently serving his second term on the Sutter Creek City Council has served as a member of the Sutter Creek Planning Commission and as a member of the City Council, he was instrumental is the Central Eureka Mine, Miner’s Bend, the Sutter Creek Grammar School restoration projects and Minnie Provis park rehabilitation project.  Most recently he helped orchestrate the Cities purchase of the Knights Foundry.  The Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians and the Amador County Chamber of Commerce established the award to honor local people who contribute their time and efforts to local causes with little fanfare or recognition.  Webb and Peters will be honored at a banquet to be held Friday, March 3rd at the Jackson Rancheria Hotel’s Grand Oak Ballroom. No-host cocktails at 6pm with dinner at 7pm. Chamber members and members of the public can make reservations by calling the Chamber office at 223-0350.
