Barrett Found Not Guilty On Two Charges

Jeremiah Barrett has been found not guilty on two charges in connection with the shooting deaths of 3 people at a marijuana farm in Calaveras County, but the jury hung on other charges. A Calaveras County Superior Court jury found Barrett not guilty Friday for the second-degree murders of Daniel Haney and Terry Flen Looney Jr. But, they split 11-1 on the remaining four charges, including 2nd-degree murder of Wesley Smith, resulting in a mistrial. He will be back in court on March 10th for a trial setting conference. Barrett responded to the scene of his brother’s marijuana farm in Calaveras County, where some people were trying to rob it of marijuana plants. He ultimately shot and killed the three people, claiming he did it in self defense.
