Recent Weather Leaves Local Roadways In Rough Shape

Roads in Amador and Calaveras counties are in really rough shape after the constant barrage of rain and wind. Many roads have flooding and mud or rock slides in several locations. Some of them are closed while crews work to clear them. And the stormy weather is not over yet. So local officials are urging everyone to be safe, give yourself extra time and drive slowly. Calaveras County PIO Sharon Torrance says we should always stay alert of our surroundings, because conditions can change in an instant. In fact, if you don’t need to go out and drive on certain roads that are frequently flooded, don’t do it. Also, you can get updated information from your local Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services. In Calaveras County you can do so by signing up for Nixle and in Amador County by signing up for CodeRed. Both can be accessed on their websites.
