Human Trafficking Case Update

One of the women charged in an alleged human trafficking operation has plead no contest to lesser charges. Medarda Estudillo plead no contest to misdemeanor marijuana charges in exchange for dropping the felony charges against her. She was sentenced to 124 days in jail and received the same amount in credits for time served and good conduct. She has to pay a fine and will be on probation and must forfeit any money seized in the case. She and Guadalupe Arrellano were arrested last year in connection with an operation that kidnapped and abused four unidentified men and forcing them to work at the marijuana grow.
