The "Hill" Opens This Friday!

The “Hill” opens this Friday! Founded as a working ranch by Arthur and Lizzie McLaughlin back in 1887, today the Ryan brothers, George, Martin and Mike along with their families, great grandchildren great-great grandchildren, and great –great-great grandchildren of Arthur and Lizzie, plant an average of 16,000 daffodil bulbs per year. It is estimated that today, Daffodil Hill is carpeted with approximately 300,000 bulbs when in full bloom. There is no admission fee for Daffodil Hill and no charge for parking; however, donations are accepted to help defray the cost of thousands of new bulbs planted each year. Just a few friendly reminders for visitors:

No dogs or other pets are allowed on the Hill, although they are allowed in the parking lot. Wear appropriate footwear, the paths are primarily dirt and gravel…and to avoid large crowds on the weekends, try to plan your visit during the week. For more information call the 24 hour message line at 296-7048, Daffodil Hill is located on Rams Horn Grade outside of Volcano. This year marks the 77th season for Daffodil Hill.
