Gas Prices Jump In Golden State

A bit of bad news today for motorists of the golden state, AAA reports gas prices in California are up by 41-cents from this same time a year ago.  Today’s average price of $3 per gallon for regular unleaded is up 12-cents over the past month.   AAA spokesman John Moreno says gas prices in California are the highest they’ve been in nearly four years.   While national gas prices are declining, on the west coast, refinery maintenance and the process of switching to summer-blend gasoline is continuing to have an impact on prices.   A KVGC survey of local gas stations reveals that regular unleaded is selling in Amador County from $2.58-$3.19, and prices in Calaveras County range from $2.77 to $3.09.  The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.28, up only 1-cent over the past month.
