Glock and ACUSD Reach Agreement

Glock and ACUSD Reach Agreement

At the regularly scheduled meeting of the ACUSD Board of Trustees on March 22, 2017, the Board took action to approve an agreement for temporary employment and settlement of all claims with Mr. Richard F. Glock.  As part of the agreement, Mr. Glock agreed to resign his elected position as Superintendent of the Amador County Office of Education (ACOE) effective March 31, 2017.  Mr. Glock will serve as principal on special assignment supporting the Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education (AE) programs from April 1, 2017 through June 30, 2017.  Due to substantial increases in state funding for CTE and AE programs this year, there is a critical need for additional short-term administrative support to develop and supervise the programs.  At the end of this temporary employment with the District, Mr. Glock will receive a one-time payment from the District in consideration for resolution of certain disputes between Mr. Glock and the District.  This payment will be funded through available one-time funds. The District will also provide the same health and welfare benefits as other certificated management employees to Mr. Glock through December 2018.  The County Office of Education will see a savings in the salary that would have been paid to Mr. Glock during his remaining term as County Superintendent.  The ACUSD Board of Trustees and ACUSD Superintendent Amy Slavensky are confident this agreement is in the best interest of the Amador County Public Schools and the students it serves.  The ACOE Board will consider appointment of a new ACOE Superintendent through the remaining term, which ends January 1, 2019, at the April 12, 2017 regularly scheduled Board meeting.
