Knitting For A Cause, Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is child abuse prevention month and the Amador Child Abuse Prevention Council wants to bring attention to the problem through some neat projects. The Council is participating in the Period of Purple Crying month activities to bring attention to and educate parents and the community about this sensitive time and to the dangers of reacting in frustration with a baby’s crying, such as shaking or harming them in some other way.  They invite knitters and crocheters throughout the county to create hats with purple yarn for newborn babies of Amador County. Information about Knitting for a Cause and the Period of Purple Crying, and limited amounts of purple yarn are being delivered to locations in all parts of the county, including the KVGC studios at 163 Main St in Jackson. For more information, please call the Amador Child Abuse Prevention Council at 223-5921, or visit www.amadorcapc.org
