Robbery Adds Insult To Injury!

Calaveras Sheriff’s Deputies were recently called to a possible robbery at a home on Railroad Flat Road in Wilseyville.  According to the Sheriff’s report, just after 1 a.m. Monday, a man was heard yelling for help inside the house. Deputies entered the home and discovered a 36-year-old man who had been tied up lying on the floor.  He told them that around midnight three to five masked men armed with guns forced their way into his home.  He reported the suspects took more than 100 pounds of processed marijuana, a large sum of cash and his silver Toyota Tacoma truck.  The truck was found later that day outside of Mokelumne Hill off Highway 49.  But the man’s troubles didn’t end there, additionally it was discovered his application to grow marijuana had been previously denied, so he could face charges for an illegal grow. If anyone has details regarding this incident please contact the sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Line at 754-6030.

In an unrelated incident, a Calaveras County Code Enforcement investigation of property on the 1000 block of Highway 49 near San Andreas discovered an unregistered marijuana grow and there were no permits for grading work that was being done.  Deputies were called in and discover 940 marijuana plants with a street value estimated at about $280,000. No suspects were found at the site and the investigation is ongoing.
