High Speed Chase Ends In Jackson

A high speed chase that started in the Sutter Creek area came to an abrupt end on Argonaut Lane in Jackson last night.   While a complete report on the incident has yet to be released, the high speed chase began around 8 last night when a Sutter Creek police officer attempted to stop a motorcycle.  The driver failed to stop, and a high speed pursuit ensued along Ridge Road, down to Highway 88 and then towards Jackson.   The driver turned onto Argonaut Lane in Jackson and continued at a high rate of speed toward Argonaut High School.  In the area of Westview Drive, it appeared the motorcycle malfunctioned and came to a stop.  The driver then attempted to flee from the scene, but the Sutter Creek officer caught him a short distance from the road and held him at gunpoint until other officers arrived for backup.   Sutter Creek PD, Jackson PD, and CHP all responded. According to reports from the scene, the suspect has previous warrants and now will face a new set of charges.   More details, including the name of the driver are expected to be released later today.
