Public DUI Sentencing Tomorrow

Public DUI Sentencing Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be a tough day for a few Amador County residents, as they are sentenced for DUI in front of an auditorium full of people. The sentencing, which will be conducted by Amador County Superior Court Judge Steve Hermanson, will be done at Amador High School as part of a student assembly. They will be actual court proceedings and will be followed by an interactive panel discussion facilitated by Nexus Youth & Family Services Friday Night Live. Members of the panel will include Judge Hermanson, DA Todd Riebe, Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Redman, CHP officer John Hardey, Chief Probation officer Mark Bonini, Public Defender Randall Shrout and Insurance Agent Anne Lintz. They will be followed by a presentation by Lynne Goodwin, Director of California Friday Night Live, whose daughter Casey was killed by a drunk driver. The purpose of the whole presentation is to show students the real life consequences of drunk driving in order to try to prevent them from driving drunk.
