New Era For Amador Catholics

New Era For Amador Catholics

Starting July 1, Amador County Catholics will transition into a new era.  Now, due to a planned reduction in parish priests from two to one, effective July 1, Mass schedules will change.   Starting this coming Saturday, only one Saturday evening Vigil Mass will be celebrated at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Martell at 5 PM.   Sunday Masses will now be celebrated at 8 AM in Ione at Sacred Heart Church, 9:30 AM at St. Katharine Drexel, and 11:30 AM in Pioneer at Our Lady of the Pines Church.   A Spanish-language Mass will follow at 2 PM at St. Katharine Drexel.    In 2011, Amador County’s three historic parishes of Immaculate Conception in Sutter Creek, Sacred Heart in Ione, and St. Patrick in Jackson consolidated into the one St. Katharine Drexel Parish, with its main center and church located in Martell and six mission churches throughout the county.   For complete mass schedules, including weekdays, visit the parish website stkatharinedrexel.com, or call the church office at 223-2970.
