Caltrans Major Improvement Project On Highway 16

Caltrans is preparing to begin a major improvement project on Highway 16 that will repave nine miles from the Sacramento/Amador County line to the Highway 16/ 49 junction, north of Drytown.   This project will improve the road surface, efficiency of travel and safety for motorists traveling in Amador County.   Work on the $2.05 million project is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 18 and be completed in October.   Work is scheduled to be done mostly at day, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and motorists should expect 10 minute delays.   Work, as always, is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
