Competitive Cycling Will Return To Jackson 

Competitive cycling will return to the streets of Jackson later this summer.  The Motherlode Bike Coalition will host a USA Cycling sanctioned bicycle race on a one mile loop in Downtown Jackson on Saturday September 8th.   A 12 mile Time Trial for racers and local residents will take place in Sutter Creek on Friday afternoon September 7th.   A family oriented walk or bike ride along Five Mile Road in Ione is scheduled for Sunday September 9th.   The event will be a season ending family festival for the competitive cycling community, as well as the surrounding residents.   Two days of bike racing with entertainment mixed in for dancing, dining, shopping and socializing on Main Street in Sutter Creek and Volcano on FRIDAY and downtown Jackson in the early evening on Saturday and Sunday in Ione.  Red Kite Bike Racing Events, will manage each bike event in partnership with the Motherlode Bike Coalition, local city and county offices, the Amador Chamber of Commerce, Amador Transportation Commission and Amador Recreation Commission.  For more information contact the Amador Chamber.
