JFD Reports Their June Call Totals 

The Jackson Fire Department reported its June call totals at the Jackson City Council meeting last night.   The Department responded to a total of 123 calls in June, that’s an average of a little more than four per day (slightly higher than their yearly average). Close to 66 percent of the calls were medical related (16 percent code 2, 45 percent code 3 and 2 percent staging required for a total of 81 calls).  Public assistance was 19 percent (23 calls), Fire Related was 11 percent (14 calls).  They had seven traffic collision calls (6 percent) and one hazardous condition call (one percent).   Of the 123 monthly calls, 27 calls or 22 percent, occurred outside the city of Jackson.  That puts the annual number of calls as of June 30 at 698.   By comparison in June off 2016 there were 118 calls and a year to date total of 805.
