Second Suspect Questioned In Missing Dog Case

A suspect in the disappearance of three pit bulls from the Pet Bath House in Angels Camp turned herself in to the Angels Camp Police Department yesterday morning. According to Angels Camp Police Chief Todd Fordahl, Patti Guy, 60, of Angels Camp, was not arrested after her cooperation in an interview.  Fordahl did say that Guy remains a suspect on three counts of killing, maiming or abusing animals, three counts of stealing animals, and one count of criminal conspiracy.  Fordahl said that Guy provided the department with information “that will hopefully assist with the investigation” and based on her “change in attitude,” the decision was made not to her arrest her.  Guy will be included in a report submitted to the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office, which ultimately will determine if charges will be filed.  The Angels Camp Police Department arrested Vonna Faye Hughes, the owner of the Pet Bath House, Saturday afternoon after an investigation that determined she may have illegally put down three dogs boarded at the facility.  Fordahl said investigators still don’t know whether the dogs are alive or dead.
