Fire And Power Outage In Jackson

Jackson City fire crews along with Cal Fire responded to a small wildland fire off Cipriano and Clinton Roads last night.   According to reports, a resident in the area called in the report of smoke and when crews arrived they found a tree had fallen into power lines.  The lines were arching and subsequently started a small grass fire.  Crews were quickly able to contain the fire and called in PGE. The utility crews worked through the night replacing the pole and power lines, restoring power to the area around 4 this morning.  Both the JFD and Cal Fire credit the alert citizen who called in the fire. No structure damage or injuries to firefighters was reported.
