ACCNET Raid Leads To 3 Out Of County Grow Houses

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team are not the only ones busy these days. Amador Under-Sheriff Jim Wegner reports a raid on an Amador County cultivation site, lead to 3 other out of county grow houses. According to Wegner, ACCNET served a search warrant at a home on Shake Ridge Road after receiving numerous complaints about a possible marijuana grow on that property. During the investigation ACCNET determined that the property was being rented by a group out of the San Francisco Bay area and was being used exclusively for growing marijuana. The house and property was otherwise vacant, with the suspects only visiting to water and to tend to the plants. 4 suspects, 100 pounds of processed marijuana and 60 growing marijuana plants were found. The search led to the discovery of a second house location in Carmichael, which appeared to be used as a staging area between grow houses in the bay area and the house in Amador County. At one of the homes in Freemont, ACCNET Agents located a sophisticated indoor grow being operated by the same group that was arrested in Amador County. At the second home, in San Lorenzo, ACCNET agents located a second sophisticated indoor marijuana cultivation site. During the search of the bay area grow sites, ACCNET agents turned up information that led to another house in Stockton where agents discovered marijuana cultivation in the main residence and a larger indoor cultivation in a detached garage. The entire investigation led to the arrest of 5 individuals with additional charges being filed on 3 others in the group. In total, ACCNET seized 949 growing marijuana plants from three different locations, along with approximately 116 pounds of processed marijuana, 16 of which was packaged for sale and approximately $96,000 in cash. Wegner says, all three cultivation sites were operating under the auspices of being legitimate medical marijuana cultivations.
