Calaveras Man Plead Not Guilty To Criminal Charges In Yolo County

A Calaveras County man plead not guilty Tuesday to criminal charges related to the death of a Yolo County man. Heder Migoya was arraigned in Yolo Superior Court on a single murder count with an enhancement for use of a deadly weapon in connection with the death of Dustin Dougherty. Dougherty was employed as the harvest manager for Say Hay Farms, an organic farm in Esparto. The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office has revealed few details about the homicide, which was reported at about 12:40 A.M. Friday at a home in rural Yolo County. Dougherty died at the scene of a stab wound. Migoya fled before authorities arrived but was apprehended later in the day in Calaveras County. His relationship to Daugherty, if any, has not been disclosed, nor has the motive for or circumstances surrounding the stabbing. A search of Calaveras County Court records shows only one entry under Migoya’s name, a divorce proceeding pending since December. Yolo authorities say that no new information will be released for the time being, as detectives have additional interviews to conduct in the case.
