Sonora Man Arrested In Amador County For Car Theft 

A Sonora man was arrested in Amador County on charges of car theft. According to the Ione Police Department, on Sunday evening an officer ran a license plate check on a vehicle that was parked at the chevron gas station on Preston Avenue. The officer was immediately alerted that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Tuolumne County. The officer called for backup and was able to safely detain the driver, Andrew James Lee. A record check was conducted and it was discovered that Lee had several outstanding warrants and his license was suspended. During a search of the vehicle, the officer discovered three bags that contained more than 130 grams of marijuana. Lee was arrested and booked into the Amador County Jail on theft charges as well as the outstanding warrants.
