A Pioneer man was injured in a distracted driving incident

A Pioneer man was injured in a distracted driving incident.   According to the CHP, John Takacs was traveling eastbound on Highway 88 just west of Toyon road Saturday night around 5 O’clock, when due to the distraction of his cell phone and his level of intoxication he allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike the embankment.  The vehicle overturned several times, coming to rest on its roof blocking the eastbound lane of the highway.  Takacs was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence and then taken to Sutter Amador hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
