Winter Storm Watch

Winter Storm Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada above 6,000 feet from Wednesday morning through late Thursday night.   The storm system will move through the area Wednesday into Thursday night.   The latest model forecasts indicate heavy mountain snow is expected.   Windy conditions are also likely. Total snow accumulations could range from eight inches to two feet.   Wind gusts will range from thirty to forty mph with gusts over fifty mph on the highest peaks.   A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel.
