Recent Break-In At Dollar General In Valley Springs

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public assistance in identifying two suspects in a recent break in at the Dollar General in Valley Springs.   According to reports, deputies responded to the store on Riley Way around 3:30 last Thursday morning to find the front glass door shattered.  Deputies checked the premises and did not locate any suspects on scene.   A review of the video surveillance shows that on Wednesday evening at about 11:50, two suspects are seen outside the business attempting to break the front door.  The two suspects appear to be younger males in their late teens to early twenties.  The front glass door to the business is then shattered and the suspects are seen entering the store.  One suspect went directly to the locked cigarette cabinet but was unsuccessful in getting any tobacco products.  Both suspects are then seen running down the aisle and stole a pre-paid cell phone before exiting the store.  Both suspects wore dark colored hooded sweatshirts and attempted to conceal their identity by covering their faces.  Photos of the suspects lifted from the video surveillance have been posted on our Facebook page. If you recognize any of the suspects in these pictures or have information regarding this crime, please call the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office at 754-6500 or the anonymous tip line 754-6030.
