The Annual Jackson Fire Department Santa Patrol

The Annual Jackson Fire Department Santa Patrol

Now that Santa has wrapped up his visits through the neighborhoods of Ione, the Jackson Fire Department reminds you they have booked Santa Clause for December 20, 21, 22 and 23 to patrol the City.    Santa will be riding in the city’s classic “Studebaker” fire engine and will be accompanied by the city’s fire trucks for the annual Jackson Fire Dept. Santa Patrol.  While the Santa is busing patrolling the City, the Police Department is giving out gifts to underprivileged girls and boys living the City of Jackson.  This will be the fifth year JPD runs the program.   Each year JPD personnel identify a number of children in need to receive Christmas gifts.  Those kids were identified through the Department’s daily interaction with city residents.  Before Christmas arrives, JPD Officers shop and wrap the presents individually.  This year during the week of December 18 to 22, JPD Officers will be visiting the children’s residences in their uniform and hand the gifts to those children in person.  JPD Captain Christy Phillips described it as a very rewarding experience for the officers.  The program is funded by donations and proceeds from fund raiser events.   The City of Jackson wishes all Amador residents a very happy holiday season.
