Deadline For Deer Tag Reports Is Approaching

State Wildlife Officials are reminding hunters of the approaching deadline for deer tag reports. Successful or not, every purchaser of one or more deer tags must report their harvest, even if they did not hunt. For those who were successful the report must be made within 30 days of harvesting a deer, or by January 31, whichever date is first. Unsuccessful hunters and those who did not hunt must report “no harvest” or “did not hunt” by the same date. Harvest reports can be submitted online to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife website. Tag holders who did not report will be charged a non-reporting fee of $21.60, which is added to their license purchase for the 2017-2018 season. Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties are part of zone D5.
