JVID Awards Contract For Long Awaited Phase #2- Treated Water Project

The Jackson Valley Irrigation District recently awarded the contract for the districts long-awaited phase #2- treated water project to Koch & Koch of Penn Valley, for $7.7 million dollars. The phase #2 project will include approximately 17 miles of new treated pipeline services, water treatment plant upgrades and will connect about 80 percent of JVID customers to the new water source. JVID has been working with the California Water Board’s Drinking Water Division since 2001 to solve ongoing health problem of serving customers untreated irrigation water from Lake Amador for in-home use within the Jackson Valley. Funded by the California Water Board, the contractor has 550 calendar days to complete the project. The project is scheduled to begin in March and be completed by September 2019.
