13 Year Old Ione Junior High Student Arrested

On Friday, Amador County Unified School District, Sutter Creek Elementary School, and Ione Junior High School experienced a threat to student and staff safety.  The threat was made towards a school district employee.  Upon an immediate investigation, led by the Amador County Sheriff’s Department, it was determined the threat was credible and a 13 year old male Ione Junior High School student was arrested and taken into custody.   According to Amador School District Superintendent Amy Slavensky, there was no direct mention of a campus threat and there is no imminent danger.   However, the District is taking an extremely cautious approach for the safety of students and staff.  This includes an increased presence on and around Sutter Creek Elementary, Sutter Creek Primary, and Ione Junior High School campuses.  Slavensky says the District will continue to work with law enforcement to best ensure the safety of students and staff, and that this incident is fully addressed.   According to the Amador County Sheriff’s Office, they received a report from the School District about a 13-year-old male student that had uploaded several rap songs with disturbing lyrics to a music sharing server.  The songs had lyrics, written and performed by the student, articulating in great detail, how he would kill a teacher and the teacher’s immediate family.  The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the FBI in securing evidence from the music sharing company based in Europe.  As the investigation continues, the Sheriff’s Office has so for identified no specific plan or direct threat of violence targeting any school, student or other teacher.
