Jackson Police Arrest Man On Robbery Charges 

Jackson Police arrested a man late Friday morning on robbery charges. According to the JPD, an employee of the smoke shop next to the Jackson Post Office reported a male subject entered the store and grabbed several items and ran out of the door towards downtown Jackson. A few minutes later the suspect, Michael Lynn Sampson, was spotted near the intersection of Main Street and Highway 49. As a JPD Officer approached, Sampson began to resist and attempted to flee. Another officer arriving on scene was able to apprehend and detained him. Sampson was arrested and booked into the Amador County Jail on 1 felony count of second degree robbery with bail set at $50,000.
