Vehicle Vs. Power Pole Causes 3,000 Customer Power Outage

Power was restored just after 6 this morning to the remaining 5 customers affected by a auto accident that initially plunged 3000 PG&E customers into the dark last night. According to the CHP, the vehicle vs. power pole accident occurred on Highway 88 at Carson drive just before 8 in the evening.   The driver allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway, colliding with the utility pole.  The accident resulted in power lines across the highway, closing the highway, until PG&E crews were able to respond and repair the situation.   The first reports from the scene, indicated the driver and passengers were trapped in the vehicle and required extraction.  It also appears there were only minor injuries.
