More Information Released Regarding Four Vehicle Collision Over Weekend

CHP released more information regarding Saturday’s four vehicle collision on Highway 88 east of Previtali Road.  According to CHP, Taylor Bidwell, 22, of Jackson was traveling eastbound on 88, east of Previtali Road, in her 2016 Chev.  Andrew Neuner, 36, of Volcano, along with Michael Tranchita, 58, of Jackson and Dyllan Anderson, 20, of Redding, were traveling westbound in their 2002 VW. Motorcyclists Ken Dzambik, 57, of Pine Grove, and Steven Dzambik, 59, of Pine Grove, were traveling westbound behind the 2002 VW.  Bidwell failed to maintain her attention on driving and allowed herself to become distracted within the 2016 Chev.  As a direct result of distracted driving, Bidwell allowed her vehicle to drift over the double yellow lines and head directly towards oncoming westbound vehicles.  Bidwell’s Chev collided with Neuner’s, Tranchita’s, and Anderson’s VW in a violent impact within the westbound lane.  The collision sent the 2002 VW spinning and overturning, as Ken Dzambik’s motorcycle collided into it and also overturned.  Steven Dzambik’s motorcycle was struck by flying debris from the initial impacts.  Bidwell and Anderson sustained minor injuries from the collision.  Ken Dzambik and Tranchita sustained major injuries; Tranchita had to be flown to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
