PG&E Representatives To Meet With The CCBS

Pacific Gas & Electric representatives will be presenting information about the agency’s community wildfire safety program to the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors today. The program consists of enhanced vegetation management, hardening of the infrastructure and in extreme circumstances, proactively shutting off the power in high fire risk areas. The focus of today’s presentation will be on the agency’s public safety power shutdown, which was first implemented on the evening of October 14 during a severe windstorm. The shutdown affected approximately 3,000 customers in West Point, Rail Road Flat, Wilseyville, Glencoe, Mokelumne Hill and Mountain Ranch. Over the course of the last several months, PG&E has met with first responders, as well as held community meetings to provide information on this program.
