Campo Seco Man Arrested On Burglary And Forged Vehicle Registration Charges

A Campo Seco man was arrested on a series of charges stemming from a traffic stop and forged vehicle registration. According to the Calaveras Sheriff’s Office, yesterday afternoon around 1:30, at Baldwin Lane and Highway 12 in Valley Springs, a deputy arrested Edward Pereira for charges related to forged DMV paperwork. During a search of the vehicle, several items of property and articles of mail were found relating to an address in the 1000 block of Shelton Road near Valley Springs. A deputy responded to that residence and found signs of forced entry and that the house had been burglarized. Pereira was arrested on numerous charges relating to the burglary for possession of stolen property which included pet remains and prescribed medication belonging to the burglary victim. His bail is set at $60,000 in the forgery case and $60,000 in the burglary case.
