UCCE Master Food Preservers Seeks Volunteers

UCCE Master Food Preservers Seeks Volunteers

The University of California Cooperative Extension Master Food Preservers of Amador and Calaveras counties is seeking volunteers who enjoy canning or drying food, teaching others new skills with food preservation and meeting new people who share a passion for food.   Three one-hour informational meetings will be held for potential volunteers to learn about the mission of the Master Food Preserver program. Educational events, the training required to become certified and the annual volunteer requirements for active members will also be discussed.  The first meeting is at 10 this morning at the Amador County GSA Building, on Airport Road.  One will also be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday the 10th and 10 a.m. Saturday the 20th at the Calaveras County Senior Center in San Andreas.  New classes for volunteers will begin in February.
