Another Wet Week For The Gold Country

Another Wet Week For The Gold Country

Looks like a wet week for the Gold County as a series of storms will impact the region later this evening through Thursday.  According to the National Weather Service, the first in a series of storm systems will move into parts of Northern California today. This is a weak system that will mainly impact our area late in the day and Monday tonight. The second system, which will be a little wetter and have more widespread coverage, will move into the Mother Lode late Tuesday and Tuesday night.  The last and wettest of the storms will then move through Wednesday night and Thursday.  Significant snow accumulations are possible in the Sierra Nevada above 5,000 feet on Tuesday night and above 6,000 feet on Wednesday night and Thursday.  The heaviest amounts are expected to fall Wednesday night and Thursday, where 3 to 4 feet of snow could fall. Breezy to windy conditions will also occur as each of the last two systems moves through the Gold Country.
