The Amador Community Sandbag Program

The Amador Community Sandbag Program

The Amador County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services reminds residents of the community sandbag program for localized flooding emergencies. The county will provide bags and sand to Amador County residents only, with a suggested (20) bag maximum limit on a self-serve basis. A pile of sand and bags are located in the airport parking lot near the county general services administration building on Sutter Hill. Be sure to bring a shovel to fill the sandbags. For more information on the county community sandbag program, contact Sergeant John Silva, Amador County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services at 223-6384. In addition to the county program, the cities of Ione 274-2412, Jackson 223-1646, and Sutter Creek 267-5647 are offering a similar program to their residents; contact your city hall for more information.
