ACSO Is Asking For The Public's Help In A Case Of Possible Elder Abuse

The Amador Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in a case of possible elder abandonment. According to the Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, the dispatch center received a call from an anonymous person reporting a 79 year old female, who was blind and deaf, was dropped off in Amador County by her son. The elderly woman was located by deputies and was deemed to be ok, but had very limited resources. An investigation is ongoing regarding the incident. In the meantime, Operation Care’s Victim Services stepped in to help out. They helped provide the woman with food and other resources and plans to continue checking in on her in the future. Operation Care’s Victim Services program assists any victims of crime in Amador County with immediate needs, such as food, clothing, safety repairs, counseling expenses, legal help and other types of assistance. They can be reached 24/7 at 223-2600.
