The ACSO Is Investigating Another Death Associated With The "Party Pardee" Bicycle Ride

The Amador County Sheriff’s Office is investigating another death associated with this week-ends “Party Pardee” bicycle ride.   According to Under Sheriff Gary Redman, Saturday afternoon around 1, a deputy was called to Pardee Dam Road near the Observation Point, where a bicyclist was down in the roadway.  When the deputy arrived an East Bay M.U.D. Ranger was operating a defibrillator and an off-duty firefighter from the Mendocino Fire Department was administering CPR to 73 year-old John Hambright of Stockton.  Medics with American Legion Ambulance arrived shortly and continued CPR while transporting the Stockton man to Sutter Amador Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  Several witness indicated that Hambright was riding on the roadway and for no apparent reason, stopped peddling his bicycle and fell down.   An autopsy will be preformed this week to determine cause of death.  Hambright was the second death associated with the annual bike ride.  The San Andreas CHP also reported, despite CPR efforts and the quick response of CHP, Fire and Ambulance, another rider passed away along Highway 12, just west of Wallace from apparent natural causes.
