Amador County Man Arrested in Calaveras

An Amador County man was arrested Monday in Calaveras County on weapons and DUI charges.  According to the Calaveras CHP, Angels Camp Police received a call regarding a non-injury crash.  Witnesses told police they believed the driver was drunk as he sideswiped three parked vehicles and took off on Highway 49.   Meanwhile, a CHP officer spotted the suspect vehicle near Lombardi Drive, between San Andreas and Mokelumne Hill, and pulled it over.  Behind the wheel was 47-year-old Richard Davis of Jackson.  A search of the vehicle turned up a .22 caliber gun hidden under clothing on the front seat and bullets in one of Davis’s pockets.  He was arrested for carry a concealed firearm, DUI at a .08% or higher, hit and run and property damage.
